James Meldrum
James (Jim) Meldrum is a career Civil Servant who was appointed as Keeper of the Registers of Scotland in 2003. Registers of Scotland performs in Scotland broadly the same functions as Her Majesty's Land Registry for England & Wales.
A former Registrar General of Births, Deaths & Marriages for Scotland (1994-1999), he has worked in the Scottish Executive, and before that The Scottish Office, for 32 years in a variety of posts
